HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) separates and quantifies compounds in a mixture and is the standard method for potency assays of botanical actives, vitamins, and amino acids. The lab extracts the actives from your product and measures them against a reference standard.

Method validation matters: an HPLC method validated for ashwagandha capsules may not work for ashwagandha gummies, where the sugar matrix interferes. Always confirm the method is validated for your specific matrix.
