State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa

The State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa is Iowa's official public health and environmental laboratory, providing diagnostic, environmental, and emergency preparedness testing to all 99 Iowa counties. Services include bacteriology, virology, newborn screening, rabies testing, air quality analysis, lead testing, water quality assessment (Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Water Act), and radiological/biological/chemical threat response. The lab is CLIA certified and participates in IDNR Laboratory Certification.
