Attain RTC is a specialist construction products and materials testing laboratory based at Hangar One, Leeds East Airport, Church Fenton, Tadcaster, North Yorkshire (LS24 9SE), in the United Kingdom. Operating as a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory, the company serves the construction products and materials sector, providing independent, third-party testing and classification of building products, systems and assemblies. Its stated vision is to set the benchmark for testing and certification of construction products across all disciplines, underpinned by staff integrity, ethical business practices, continuous improvement and a strong commitment to quality of service. The laboratory occupies a large, purpose-built facility — reported to be around 40,000 square feet — engineered specifically for full-scale and element-level construction testing. The site houses dedicated reaction-to-fire laboratories, large horizontal and vertical fire-resistance furnaces, BS 8414 façade fire-propagation rigs, an acoustic test suite, and façade/curtain-wall test apparatus capable of assessing the performance of complete building-envelope systems. This concentration of heavy testing infrastructure under one roof allows Attain RTC to evaluate products from small samples through to large mock-ups and full assemblies. A core discipline is reaction to fire, where Attain RTC assesses the fire performance of products and materials used within the construction sector in support of BS EN 13501-1 classification, as well as BS 8414 cladding/façade fire-propagation testing and LPS 1181 loss-prevention standards. These services are directly relevant to building-envelope and cladding compliance, an area of heightened regulatory scrutiny across the UK construction industry. The laboratory's classification reporting helps manufacturers, contractors and specifiers demonstrate that products meet the fire-safety performance required by Building Regulations and certification schemes. Fire resistance is a second major capability. Attain RTC's 4 m high by 3 m wide vertical furnace and 4 m by 3 m horizontal furnace have been designed and engineered to deliver consistent, reliable and repeatable results for products such as doors, walls, floors, partitions and other separating elements. The laboratory references standards including BS 476-22 (fire-resistance tests for non-loadbearing elements of construction), enabling assessment of integrity, insulation and load-bearing performance of construction products exposed to fire conditions. The laboratory also offers façade, window and door testing to CWCT (Centre for Window and Cladding Technology) standards and equivalent European or US standards. This covers mechanical performance, operational functionality, smoke control, physical/structural performance and security testing for façades, curtain walling, windows and doors — including water and air-ingress mock-ups, wind/physical load testing and endurance. Such testing is essential for verifying weather-tightness, durability, safety and security of building-envelope products before they are installed on commercial and residential developments. Acoustics rounds out Attain RTC's service portfolio. The acoustic suite provides laboratory measurement of airborne sound insulation and impact sound insulation of building products, assessment of flanking transmission through ceilings and floors, and measurement of sound generated by rainfall on building elements such as roofs. These measurements are carried out to recognised standards in the BS EN ISO 10140 series and support manufacturers and designers in demonstrating compliance with acoustic performance requirements for partitions, floors, ceilings, roofs and other separating elements. Attain RTC primarily serves manufacturers of construction products and materials, façade and cladding suppliers, fenestration (window and door) manufacturers, building-product developers, and the wider construction supply chain that requires accredited evidence of fire, structural, security and acoustic performance. The combination of full-scale fire furnaces, BS 8414 rigs, façade test capability and an acoustic suite means the laboratory can address the performance of the entire building envelope from a single accredited provider — a meaningful convenience for clients pursuing multiple test disciplines on related products. As a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory, Attain RTC operates under the quality-management and technical-competence requirements associated with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, giving buyers confidence that test results are produced impartially, traceably and to internationally recognised standards. The company emphasises building long-lasting, professional client relationships, listening to customer needs and delivering services on time. Its membership of industry bodies such as the MCRMA (Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association) further reflects its engagement with the construction-products community. The laboratory operates Monday to Thursday 08:30–17:00 and Friday 08:30–15:30, and welcomes enquiries by phone or email for quotations and project discussions.
