AQUASCOP - Laboratoire Angers

Aquascop (Angers laboratory) is a long-established, independently owned French consultancy and laboratory specialising in the functioning of aquatic environments, with 38 years of experience, around 80 staff and thousands of studies completed. It is recognised in France for the quality of its work and operates a COFRAC-accredited laboratory.

The firm analyses the hydrobiological components of aquatic ecosystems — phytoplankton, zooplankton, diatoms, macrophytes, macroinvertebrates and fish — and assesses biological indices, wetland functionality and the functioning of hydrosystems (hydromorphology, methods such as CARHYCE, SYRAH-CE, REH and ICE). It has also developed strong capabilities in GIS mapping and data management, drone-based environmental surveys, and its AquaTIC water-management software.

Aquascop works for water agencies, state services, departmental councils, communities of communes, river syndicates, natural parks, motorway operators and industrial clients, supporting the diagnosis, restoration and conservation of aquatic environments in line with the EU Water Framework Directive.
