AERIAL

Aerial is a French technological resource centre (CRT) and agro-industrial technical institute (ITAI) based in the Innovation Park in Strasbourg-Illkirch, and an IAEA collaborating centre. For nearly 40 years it has supported research, innovation and industrial development across a wide range of sectors, bringing together multidisciplinary expertise and advanced equipment for R&D, quality control and training.

Aerial is a hub for research and training in irradiation technologies and applications, providing radiation-processing control techniques — R&D, studies, tests, expertise and validation for sterilisation of medical devices, improvement of material properties, food irradiation and environmental applications. It has developed an internationally recognised range of dosimetric analysis equipment to support the quality control of ionising treatments, and offers the detection of irradiated foods.

In the agri-food field, Aerial provides food control, safety and quality services, and it supports clients' R&D and innovation projects across the full Technology Readiness Level scale, from concept to industrialisation, including knowledge transfer and on-site staff training.
