Food Safety and Process Technology Group is a BSL2 contract laboratory specializing in nonthermal processing technology efficacy testing, particularly atmospheric cold plasma (ACP) evaluation for food safety, cosmetics, and medical device sterilization applications. Led by Dr. Rick Falkenberg (Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, UC San Diego), the lab conducts bioburden reduction assessments, environmental monitoring, and efficacy validation using volumetric air sampling and spatial mapping. They serve food safety, cosmetics, and biotechnology sectors.
