Omega Test Srl is a specialized analytical testing laboratory located at Via del Santo 108, Limena (Padova), in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. Founded by a team of sector professionals with deep expertise in the classification of asbestos-containing materials (materiali contenenti amianto, MCA), man-made vitreous fibres (fibre artificiali vetrose, FAV), and contaminated environments, the laboratory offers a comprehensive suite of analytical, sampling, and consulting services to companies, public and private bodies, and individual clients across Italy. Its stated mission centres on precision, speed, innovation, and direct client proximity — including the ability for clients to speak directly with the technicians and professionals performing their analyses. Asbestos analysis is the laboratory's primary and most extensive service area. Omega Test Srl performs both qualitative identification and quantitative determination of asbestos in a wide range of materials: fibre-cement boards and roofing slabs (fibrocemento), vinyl floor tiles, natural stone and lapideous materials, gaskets and seals, thermal insulation products, pipework, soils, solid waste, sludge, and water samples. Both bulk solid materials and environmental or personal air samples can be analysed for asbestos fibre content. The laboratory applies established Italian and international regulatory methodologies, including those referenced in the Italian Ministerial Decree of 06/09/1994 and the national health institute reports ISTISAN 2015/05, making its results directly usable for regulatory compliance and remediation decision-making. For man-made vitreous fibres (FAV — including glass wool, rock wool, ceramic fibres, and other mineral fibres), Omega Test Srl determines the geometric mean diameter weighted by length (diametro medio geometrico ponderato rispetto alla lunghezza, DMGPL) and performs chemical characterisation to assign the fibre to its correct hazard class under applicable European classification frameworks. This service is critical for occupational health assessments, waste classification, and building-material surveys where FAV products are present. The laboratory also quantifies crystalline silica content using X-ray diffractometry (XRD/DRX) directly on sampling filters or on bulk solid materials, and additionally determines the respirable fraction (SWFF) and the respirable crystalline silica fraction (SWFFCS) from bulk materials in accordance with UNI EN 17289-3:2021 — one of the more demanding and recently harmonised European standards in this field. Beyond asbestos and fibres, Omega Test Srl operates a range of complementary analytical techniques on bulk solid, metallic, and plastic materials. Elemental chemical composition is determined by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF/FRX), enabling rapid, non-destructive identification of major and minor elemental constituents. Mineralogical composition is characterised by X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD/DRX), providing phase identification and semi-quantitative or quantitative phase analysis. Chemical functional-group composition is assessed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR/FTIR), useful for polymer identification, contamination screening, and organic compound characterisation. These three instrumental techniques together form a powerful multi-modal toolkit for materials identification and hazard classification across diverse industrial sectors. Omega Test Srl also provides on-site sampling services, deploying its own personnel and equipment to collect samples across accessible areas, confined spaces, and elevated locations using truck-mounted aerial work platforms, scissor lifts, and other powered lifting equipment (piattaforme elevatrici, PLE). Bulk material sampling covers a wide spectrum: asbestos-cement roofing panels, vinyl flooring, sediment deposits in drainage channels, pipe and boiler lagging, adhesives and screeds, lapideous materials, bituminous roofing membranes, pipe flanges in technical rooms, window-sealing putty, spray-applied wall plaster, insulating board ceilings, attic insulation batts, and steel tie rods. For air quality, the laboratory collects both environmental (indoor and outdoor) and personal (worker-worn) air samples using calibrated pumps — high-flow pumps for ambient monitoring under DM 06/09/1994 and ISTISAN 2015/05, and low-flow personal pumps for occupational exposure assessment of airborne chemical, carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reprotoxic substances. Sampling media include membrane filters, sorbent foam plugs, and solid-sorbent tubes such as activated-carbon vials. All sampling procedures reference internationally recognised methodologies: NIOSH, OSHA, UNICHIM, UNI, ISO, and applicable Italian legislation, and are reported fully in the final test report issued to each client. In addition to laboratory analysis and field sampling, Omega Test Srl offers technical consulting on the condition assessment of asbestos-cement roofing (coperture in cemento-amianto). These inspections evaluate the degree of degradation or preservation of existing cement-asbestos roof coverings in accordance with the Italian Ministerial Decree of 06/09/1994 and, for sites in the Veneto region, Regional Decree DGRV n.265 of 15/03/2011 or the applicable current regional guideline. The service includes bulk sample collection and classification to provide objective evidence of material condition, supporting property owners, building managers, and public authorities in deciding on maintenance, encapsulation, or removal interventions. Omega Test Srl maintains a quality policy (politica per la qualità) and operates with instrumentation and equipment kept in conformity with applicable Italian legislation and the relevant technical standards. The laboratory relies on advanced technology and highly qualified personnel, and works in close collaboration with other professional consultants, consulting firms, and third-party analysis laboratories to handle risks that require integrated sampling, data processing, and analytical interpretation. Its geographic base in the Veneto industrial district positions it well to serve manufacturing companies, building contractors, environmental consultancies, waste managers, occupational-hygiene professionals, and public administrations throughout northeastern Italy and beyond.
White Lab s.r.l. - C.T.R.
Limena· 3:50 PM
C.T.R. – Centro Triveneto Ricerche, a laboratory of the White Lab group based in Limena (Padua), Italy, works mainly in the engineering, geotechnical and environmental fields, combining construction-materials testing with metallurgical and environmental analysis. C.T.R. is specialised in the detection of asbestos and man-made vitreous fibres (MMVF) and in laboratory and in-situ testing of construction materials. It performs physico-mechanical, metallographic and chemical tests for the characterisation of steels and alloys and for welding qualifications, and carries out failure analysis on metallic components to identify the causes of breakages and failures, as well as accelerated corrosion and ageing tests (salt-spray, climatic-chamber and UV testing). The laboratory is equipped with an internal workshop for machining test specimens and producing the equipment that supports its testing activity.
