Centro Tecnológico del Metal de la Región de Murcia (CTMETAL) is a multidisciplinary technology and testing centre based in San Ginés, Murcia, Spain, operating at the intersection of accredited laboratory services, industrial innovation, and technical consulting. At the core of CTMETAL's testing offer is its Materials Laboratory (Laboratorio de Materiales), which delivers continuous quality-control support for raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods for companies in metal processing and polymer industries. Analytical capabilities encompass microscopic, mechanical, and chemical characterisation of metallic materials; non-destructive inspection using liquid penetrant (LP) methods; coating characterisation; and thermal, physical, chemical, and mechanical characterisation of polymeric materials. The laboratory holds ENAC accreditation for macroscopic tests and for accelerated salt-spray corrosion testing in accordance with ISO 9227, and its inspection staff carry certification from the Spanish Association of Non-Destructive Testing (Asociación Española de Ensayos No Destructivos, AEND). These services underpin quality assurance programmes for metal fabrication, surface treatment, casting, and related manufacturing operations.

The Fire Extinguisher Laboratory (Laboratorio de Extintores) represents one of CTMETAL's most specialised and nationally recognised capabilities. Accredited by ENAC since 2000, the laboratory conducts type-testing and periodic verification of portable and mobile fire extinguishers, covering hydrostatic pressure testing, burst testing of pressurised vessels, accelerated salt-spray corrosion testing of metallic components, and extinguishing agent characterisation. CTMETAL is reported to be the only ENAC-accredited laboratory in Spain for the testing of extinguishing powder, an exceptional distinction that underscores both the depth of its technical expertise and the scarcity of this capability nationally. Manufacturers of fire suppression equipment, certification bodies, and industrial safety regulators rely on CTMETAL for impartial, accredited verification against the applicable European standards.

CTMETAL operates a dedicated Irrigation Materials Laboratory (Laboratorio de Materiales de Riego) that evaluates the mechanical and functional performance of drip-irrigation and pressurised-distribution components manufactured from polyethylene, PVC, copper, and ductile cast iron. Situated in one of Europe's most intensive horticultural regions, this facility directly serves equipment manufacturers and agricultural end users across Murcia and the Spanish Mediterranean coast, supporting CE marking compliance for construction products used in irrigation infrastructure. Complementing this agricultural focus, the Phytosanitary Machinery Laboratory (Laboratorio de Maquinaria Fitosanitaria), operational since May 2002, tests and verifies agricultural spraying equipment against regulatory performance and inspection requirements — addressing the EU mandate for periodic verification of plant-protection product application machinery and ensuring operators and manufacturers can demonstrate compliance with national inspection schemes.

The Doors and Windows Testing Laboratory (Laboratorio de Ensayo de Puertas y Ventanas) has been delivering performance testing for windows and pedestrian doors since 2010, characterising products against properties required for CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Tests conducted include air permeability, water tightness under wind-driven rain, wind resistance, and mechanical load capacity of safety devices, all performed following harmonised European standards. The centre's testing portfolio is further extended by a Breathing Equipment Laboratory (Equipos de Respiración) for personal protective equipment used in industrial environments, and a dedicated Electrical Calibrations service (Calibraciones Eléctricas) for electrical measurement instruments.

CTMETAL hosts the Regional Calibration Laboratory of Murcia (Laboratorio Regional de Calibración de Murcia), which provides metrological traceability services to industry and public institutions. The laboratory holds ENAC accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 for calibration in the dimensional measurement area (accreditation number 153/LC10.111) and expanded its scope to become the first ENAC-accredited laboratory in the temperature measurement area within the Region of Murcia (Calibration Certificate 138/LC10.098). The laboratory supplies calibration certificates with full traceability to national and international measurement standards, and provides advisory support on calibration intervals, acceptance criteria, and metrological uncertainty — essential for companies operating under ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality frameworks.

CTMETAL's Industrial Consulting Department (Departamento de Organización Industrial) extends the centre's value beyond the laboratory by offering design, implementation, and internal-audit support for management systems compliant with ISO 9001:2015 (quality), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental), EMAS environmental verification, OHSAS 18001:2007 (occupational health and safety), and UNE 166002:2014 (R&D management). The department additionally assists manufacturers in establishing factory production control (FPC) systems required for CE marking of construction products, covering gap analysis, documentation, implementation support, internal auditing, and ongoing maintenance.
