ADVANCED MATERIALS TESTING AND CONSULTING, S.L. (AMTEC)

AMTEC Composites (Advanced Materials Testing and Consulting, S.L.) is a Spanish laboratory based in Girona that specialises in the mechanical behaviour and fracture analysis of composite materials and adhesives, with a strong focus on supporting R&D projects.

The laboratory provides an integral testing service that adds value at every stage: test and specimen design representative of real service conditions, specimen manufacturing (prepreg and autoclave, hot plates, resin infusion, RTM) and machining of complex shapes, and the design and manufacture of bespoke test fixtures. Mechanical testing is performed to virtually any existing standard or to customised methods, under static or fatigue loads and from cryogenic to elevated temperatures, using advanced instrumentation such as Digital Image Correlation and crack-growth tracking.

AMTEC also selects or develops the most suitable data-reduction methods, generates material cards as inputs for CAE simulation software, and investigates phenomena observed during testing to advise clients on how to apply the results in their modelling and design strategies. Test conditions, parameters and calculations are reported exhaustively together with the raw data.
